2010 Play Day Dog of the Year Award Rules

The 4 CHAT Play day Dog of the Year Award is designed to encourage all members to participate in our Play day, Meetings, and Mock Trial events. This allows the club to encourage members to prepare for actual herding trials as well as encouraging those who may not be prepared for trials to continue to work and train their dogs in a positive working environment. The award will be based on the following protocols.

1) Membership in 4 Corners Herding Association of Tulsa.
2) Attendance at each meeting prior to Mock Trial event.
3) All three levels, novice, intermediate, advanced will be judged and completed in a 10 minute run.
4) Points will be awarded for each level and tie breaker will be as per AKC regulations on the best cross drive.
5) Awards will be given at each level for both strong eyed and loose eyed breeds.
6) A dog/handler pair will be moved up to the next higher level upon winning three mock trial events
Points will be allocated on a standardized format regardless of number of participants etc.
6 Points = 1st place
5 Points = 2nd place
4 Points = 3rd place
3 Points = 4th place
2 Points = 5th place
HIT (High in Trial) will receive an extra 6 points
RHIT (Reserve High in Trial) will recieve an extra 5 points

  Cost:  $5.00 each dog for the morning practice
  Mock Trial Cost:  $5.00 per dog
