Rules for Trial Dog of the Year
Only 4-Corners members are eligible for this award. It is given to encourage trialing throughout the USA. The winner will be determined by the following guidelines.
1) Member must declare what division they are competing in, to the Trial Dog of the Year Administrator by November 1st.
2) Submission of placements to the Trial Dog of the Year Administrator by December 20th.
3) Venues allowed: AKC/ASCA/AHBA/USBCHA/ASTA
4) A member may only enter a dog in one division - Owner Handled or Open.
5) Five scores required. Top 5 scores used.
6) Point System
6 Points = 1st place
5 Points = 2nd place
4 Points = 3rd place
3 Points = 4th place
2 Points = 5th place
1 point per qualifying score
HIT (High in Trial) will receive an extra 6 points
RHIT (Reserve High in Trial) will receive an extra 5 points
Divisions
1. Owner-Handled: For all scores the dog must be handled by the owner. If the dog is handled by someone else, then the dog must move to Open where all scores will count. One award will be given to a Border Collie and another award to a loose-eyed breed.
2. Open: This division is open to all dogs owner handled or handled by someone else. One ward will be given to a Border Collie and another award to a loose-eyed breed.
